His nonfiction book Storms Can’t Hurt the Sky: A Buddhist Path Through Divorce was published in 2008. He has written for such publications as The New York Times, Poets & Writers, Gourmet.com, Shambhala Sun, the New York Post magazine, and Time Out New York, and is included in the anthology Best Buddhist Writing 2009. He has taught writing at New York University; worked as a staff writer for the New Haven Advocate newspaper; and lectured extensively. He founded and coordinates the Sundays at Sunny’s reading series, has taught at Kripalu Center for Yoga and Health, and was a guest lecturer aboard the Queen Mary 2 ocean liner. He lives in Brooklyn, New York.
