His nonfiction book Storms Can’t Hurt the Sky: A Buddhist Path Through Divorce was published in 2008. He has written for such publications as The New York Times, Poets & Writers, Gourmet.com, Shambhala Sun, the New York Post magazine, and Time Out New York, and is included in the anthology Best Buddhist Writing 2009. He teaches in the Writing Program at Pratt Institute; has taught writing at New York University; worked as a staff writer for the New Haven Advocate newspaper; and lectures extensively. He founded and coordinated the Sundays at Sunny’s reading series, has taught at the Omega Institute and the Kripalu Center for Yoga and Health, and was a guest lecturer aboard the Queen Mary 2 ocean liner. He lives in Brooklyn, New York.
